2007年植物分子生物学暑期班

为了促进植物分子生物学方面的学术交流，国家自然科学基金委员会、高等学校学科创新引智计划及北京大学生命科学学院将于8月11日－15日举办“2007年植物分子生物学暑期班”，由北京大学长江特聘讲座教授、美国耶鲁大学邓兴旺教授，美国加州大学洛杉矶分校林辰涛教授，宾夕法尼亚大学马红教授，美国卡耐基研究所王志勇教授，美国加州大学Riverside分校杨贞标教授，美国密歇根州立大学Ning Jiang博士六人主讲。

暑期班日程安排如下：

August 11(Saturday): Hong Ma- Penn State University

Molecular genetic and evolutionary studies of male fertility

Lecture 1. Introduction to male reproductive development

Lecture 2. Cell-cell signaling and transcriptional network in anther cell differentiation

August 13 (Monday): ZhiYong Wang- Carnegie Institution, Stanford

Hormonal signaling and Plant Development

Lecture 1. An overview of signals and receptors in plants.

Lecture 2. Plant hormone signal transduction pathways.

Lecture 3. Brassinosteroid signal transduction.

Lecture 4. Methods for studying signal transduction.

August 14 (Tuesday): Zhengbiao Yang- University of California, Riverside

August 15 (Wednesday): Ning Jiang- Michigan State University

Transposable elements: important genomic components and useful tools

Lecture 1. History, classification, and transposition mechanism of transposable elements

Lecture 2. Target selection, genome size expension, and regulation of transposition activity

Lecture 3. Transposable elements as essential components for the genome, the regulator for gene expression, and the mediator for exon- shuffling

Lecture 4. Horizontal transfer, domestication, and useful tools
